Malaysia is a developing country. Everyone in the country especially the citizens are trying very hard to become a better person. Many trainings are available and are given to the employees to ensure that their skills are sharpen and they will act professionally as a citizen, an employee, a boss or a lover. By acting professionally in life in all aspects, you would find yourself a happy person. You will not sweat and get frustrated for small stuff.
Professional citizen means an individual who live in a country and he/ she is aware of the law, the damages caused by defamation, the important of being efficient and competent in his/her profession, not involve in any gossips, always seek for black and white before they believe in some rumors, not forwarding "meaningless" emails, no talking bad about peers, leaders and the organization, always give the co-operation to the leaders and authorities, always learn from the best, not jealous on others achievement, however, working harder to seek for improvement, respect oneself and have a positive mindset to work for a better environment for living. Log an official complaint at Public Complaints Bureau (http://www.bpa.jpm.my/) if you think there are rooms of improvement from the government administrative or anything that you think it is not fair for you.
Professional buyer means an individual will understand his/ her needs and the products or services before he/ she commits to a purchase transaction. He/ She must know his/ her rights as a consumer and always seek for help from the authorities (Consumer Tribunal - http://www.gov.my/MYGOV/BI/Directory/Citizen/LegalMatters/Acts/Consumer/) for a fair debate if there is any.
Professional seller means a seller who excel in his/ her product knowledge and at the same time, he/she should sell only the top quality products to those who are in need with fair price. He/ she will never do a push sales. And, he/ she will never force people to buy the products.
Professional buyer means a buyer who is genuine to purchase a value for money product.
Professional employee means he/ she works on his/ her jobs allocated by his/ her direct superiors. He/ she understands the Private and Confidential Policies for his/ her job. He/ she should meet the job KPIs. Straightly no jealousy and gossiping among the peers. A professional and fair competition among colleagues should be applied in a company. A harmony working environment and helping each other to improve to become better individuals should be practiced in a company.
Professional Employer means the fair employer who takes the initiative to take care and train the employees by providing competitive remuneration. He/ she awards those who has worked hard for the company. He/ she spends some efforts to bring the employees' relationship closer by having team building program.
Professional Lovers means those who has spent enough time to understand both parties' needs to achieve peaceful and happy situation and eventually, the lovers commit to a marriage to form a happy family. An agreeable time buffer should be allocated to talk, so that both parties can understand how each party interprets a message to achieve common goals and at the same time to eliminate the miscommunicating and misunderstanding situations.

Majority of the companies would like to train their staff and hopefully, the potential staff can be trained and serve the company as one of the heads or the leader in the organization eventually. This is mainly because the top management, i.e. the old men and old women up there would like to move on to another stage of life when they have achieved something high within an expected period or time. No one is actually eager enough to hold a high position for a very long time until all his/her successors are trying to kill him/her before he/she step down from the position. It is a norm that the new generation will always be expected to take over the old generation's roles with respect and having the attitude to do a better job for the societies and communities. The old men and old women encouraged new blood to move up the leaders' position. They are very supportive.
Many employees are frustrated when they are not getting the promotion as expected. When a person wants to get promotion in his/her career, the 1st thing that he/ she needs to check is his/her credentials and capabilities. The 2nd thing is his/her leadership skills and personal characters. The 3rd question in mind should be the suitability of your talent in your job. Some questions he/ she should ask himself/ herself before he/ she kept on blaming others for not giving any promotion to him/ her or kept on jealous on others achievement. A professional citizen is encouraged here.
1. Have you achieve the KPIs?
If the answer is yes, you should evaluate your leadership skills and your personal characters.
We will talk more about leadership skills and personal characters later. If you have not achieved all the KPIs yet, then, you must really work harder and try not to get involve in any gossips. You should work harder, harder and harder. Remember, reading the newspapers is the best way to obtain information. And, not gossiping within a gang to get to know more information about a country, a nation and the world.
2. Do you have the leadership skills and good personal characters to become a boss?
Some people will never be a boss although they are very capable. The boss must have some good values and unique personal characters. They are positive, optimist with enthusiasm, fair, a critical thinker, knowledgeable, kind, loyal in a relationship and etc. You may spot some low quality bosses especially in developing countries because there are not enough of quality candidates. Those are the bosses with awareness of their quality level, they will continue to learn and be humble against events and incidents.
But, the point I am emphasizing here is the best quality bosses with values. You may spot some good quality bosses when you observe how and what are the content of his/her talks. Kindly take notes some speeches below from quality bosses.
a. "Wow! He/ She has improved a lot." He/ she will not judge people by the cover and he will note the details. The quality of work done in year 2008 definitely better than the quality of work done in year 2007.
b. "Good job! You must put in a lot of efforts. " Necessary compliments and critics must be given.
c. "Check on dates and form a progression chart." He/ She will allocate suitable workload and reasonable due dates for the staff.
d. "You must be really good in public relationship. Would you mind taking up a new challenge to become the Head of the Public Relationship Department?" He/ She appreciates talents and a good Talent Management player.
e. "I am sure you had bad days for your relationship. I suggest that you take a one week off to relax and get yourself ready again for jobs. We need a more positive and confidence staff in one week time. I am sure you will not disappointing me. " He/ She is an emotional human who will understand humans are emotional and no one is perfect in this world. He/ She will evaluate madly on the staffs' good values. He/ She will try to manipulate the good values within an individual to help an organization to move on. He/ She believes that no one is actually useless in this world.
f. "We are going to have a company trip to Venice, Italy this year." He/ She will award the staff by giving suitable praises and awards. Fair bosses are lovely.
If you met a lovely boss and he/ she has the intention to bring you up as a leader of the organization, kindly work harder for him/ her. Try to give him/ her credits as well.
Be professional boss and professional employees!
Optimists with full of enthusiasm are the most powerful individuals in the world. Previously, I can never understand the reason of a leader would like to use his/ her power to lead a team or a country because I always believe we should respect human right and promote world peace.
Due to the stereotype of a failure will loss trust and will not given a chance from the public, and, also, as a result of too many obstacles or barriers towards a successful path, a human nature has automatically raised his/her ability to use power to fasten or smoothen the journey of a successful project. As long as the consequences and the impacts of a successful project will benefit majority of the people in this world, necessary power is used to eliminate unnecessary barriers and obstacles.
I always think that it is not right to use power to achieve a goal, but, now, I have no choice and I am starting to learn the magic of the power and, I can understand why it is so interesting to have an invention in the world.
